BQ76952: bq76952/ SCD/ Test mode

I have a question about Bq76952 SCD function.

I am using FET in Test Mode .

I performed SCD Test, and SCD was detected and C/D FET was turned off, but it recovered and turned on again.

If SCD current is continuously supplied, C/D FET repeats turning off/on.

I will send you my settings below and please guide me on what to review.

MFG status = 0x0066
Shunt R = 0.25mohm
SCD threshold = 125mV
Delay = 105us

Protect A Cfet Cfg bit7 = 1; (SCD)
Protect A Dfet Cfg bit7 = 1; (SCD)

I am measuring the voltage by ADC across the Gate of the FET and also checking the Pack voltage measurement.

I have additional questions.
1. What happens when SCD diagnosis occurs and Bq76952 turns on the FET by itself?
2. When SCD diagnosis occurs and MCU has to write alarm status as 1 to clear the diagnosis, can it be cleared automatically?

    Hello Sungjun,

    1. What you are seeing can be expected as the device can recover autonomously after a programmable delay given by Protections:SCD:Recovery Time if the device is configured for autonomous FET control. If you would like the device to recover with a different condition, you may want to look at the SCDL protection instead.  More information can be found in Section 5.2.6 Short Circuit in Discharge Protection of the BQ76952 Technical Reference Manual.

    2. The alarm status will latch and therefore needs to be cleared manually.
