BQ76942: Charging Mechanism

Hello TI Team,

I've just encounted a problem that i didn't find a solution. I am designing a 7-cell BMS board. But i am just wondering: Will the BQ76942 help me charge these batteries correctly and safely if I try to charge them with any power source (not a lipo charger)? If the BQ76942 cannot do this, is there an integrated circuit you would recommend that can ensure safe and proper charging?

    Hello Emir,

    The BQ76942 will offer protection for your board, however, you will still a charging IC to ensure proper charging, especially with the specific power source you would like to use. Our device will stop it from breaking, but it will not manage the charging.
