I am planing to design battery charger circuit using BQ25720 IC and can i charge the battery without micro controller is't possible? please let me know

The BQ25720 is a host controlled device which requires a host controller to be used to properly charger the battery.

i need more information regarding below questions

1) what is FRS mode
2) what is ICO feature and how can i use it
3) what is VAP mode and is't nesscery to charge the battery
4) what is pass through mode(PTM).?
how can i enable the PTM mode by change in hardware.
