LM5171: Use with Two Independent Batteries

Part Number: LM5171

Tool/software:

Hi,

I need to design a boost converter taking input power from two separate batteries while implementing load sharing. For this I am currently considering the LM5171. In my application, I would connect the batteries to the LV-Port side and take output from the HV-Port side. Can I simple connect one battery to LV-Port CH-1 and the other to LV-Port CH-2 (thus LV-Port CH-1 and LV-Port CH-2 are not shorted together) and short together HV-Port CH-1 and HV-Port CH-2 or are there any other considerations I need to take? Are there any reference designs or application notes for using two independent batteries and having load sharing for the LM5171?

Thanks
