We typically recommend using a BQ79718 or BQ79712 with the BQ79731/BQ79600 devices.

Hello Adam,

Yes the timing for the protocols are slightly different, so they are not recommended to communicate with one another for new designs

The VIF protocol is Intellectual Property so I cannot share specific details.
