TPS22950: Datasheet description of Current limit

Part Number: TPS22950

Tool/software:

Hi Team

Datasheet as below mention The output voltage is held near zero potential with respect to ground .

but in the figure 9.1 trigger current limit the Vout still under high level voltage

Another question is when we trigger the current limit FLT will pull low after 10us delay time or accumulate the thermal?

  • Hi Brian,

The output voltage is held near zero potential with respect to ground .

This scenario mentioned here in the datasheet is when the device performs startup when there is partial short or hard short at output. This short will draw high current but the device limit this current to ilim level. Vout will be ILIM*Rout (will be low but non-zero in case of soft-short).

Another question is when we trigger the current limit FLT will pull low after 10us delay time or accumulate the thermal?

    BRs

The FLT pin will go low after thermal shutdown.

    Best Regards,
    Arush
