BQ51013B: State of Wireless Charging Portfolio?

Part Number: BQ51013B
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ51013, BQ51013C, TIDA-00712, TIDA-00669, TIDA-00688, TIDA-00318

Tool/software:

I'm in the market for a wireless charging IC.  The BQ51013B looks promising, but there doesn't seem to be any mention of the EVM on the product page, nor is the EVM available from any reputable distributor.  I've also found a lack of documentation in general regarding TI's wireless charging products.  The webpage too (www.ti.com/wirelesspower) now redirects to regular battery charger ICs.  I can't seem to find anything about currently recommended solutions; does any up-to-date documentation exist?  Is this a product line that TI plans to cut loose in the near future?

  • Hi Daniel,

TI has wireless power receivers, 5W and below available. I will note we have the BQ51013C version IC set to release to market before the end of the year and it will be compliant to latest WPC standards. Below I have linked the BQ51013C product page. If you are interested preproduction samples are available and this device will have an EVM (shown on product page).

Our TX products are NRND and not supported, as they do not meet latest WPC standards. Note we also have TI reference designs that feature wireless power TIDA-00318, TIDA-00669, TIDA-00688 and TIDA-00712.

    Best Regards,

    Garrett
