issue is with when battery is disconnected the bq40z50 device has no VCC and the chrg disch fets are off as not energized on their gates --put in the battery and the bq has power but is not outputting to the fet gates so it cant actually do any batt sense or charging --- - so the charger is dead unless the fets are energized  on both pack and charger sides by externally jumping ----so whats the issues ---- how do you actually wake up the bq part such that it energizes the fets and senses cell in place and allows charging to resume?

    Hello,

    For the bq device to wake up there must be a voltage applied on the pack pin. A temporary short between the BAT and PACK pin can be implemented to achieve this. In the design of our EVMs there is a push button that can be used to short between PACK and BAT.
