We are looking at a solution set to replace ADI's MAX17332, of course TI does not have an aio part similar, so we are looking at a set of ics.
Our need is similar to AR/VR application in single-cell liion ~800mAh.
We've identified BQ25186 and its sister BQ25185 as good candidates for this application which needs:
* Low-iq support for deep sleep / ship modes
* High current capability, either with external or internal mosfets up to 2A continuous @ 50C ambient.
* Linear charging capability 500mA target
* Small solution size, preferably wafer chip scale or similar.
* Accurate fuel gauging for majority low-iq operation (perferably impedance track or advanced algorithm)
* I2C control of charger preferred
Right now I'm looking at
* BQ2518x + BQ27621-G1
Q1: I see the BQ25185/BQ25186 claim to support 3.1A discharge, however also claims the battery FET rdson is 115mOhm. This would cause about 1W power dissipation in the FET. I could not find any mention of the of rdson for internal mosfets anywhere in the datsheet etable besides the first page. Could you please confirm this?
Q2: Is there any device you can recommend without powerpath that can meet our requirements? As actually there are multiple terminals for charging, so we do not necessarily need or want power-path control.
Q3: Do you have any recommendations for a set of products meeting our needs besides what I've mentioned.
