LP5912-Q1: Calculate min/max output over lifetime (including temp. change and aging)

Part Number: LP5912-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS7A21-Q1, TPS7A20

Tool/software:

Hello,

I'm planning to use a LP5912-Q1 (3.3V variant) in a SIL-2 system.

For my documentation I need to calculate the absolute min/max output voltage under all conditions.
This includes initial accuracy, temperature change, line regulation, load regulation, aging and voltage drop on the PCB trace.
The supplied component must be supplied with 3.3V with a tolerance of +/- 4%.
(actually I need to calculate the min/max of the LDO to check if it is even suitable for my requirements)

I'm facing the following issues;

  1. The datasheet does not give information regarding temperature behavior (output voltage change dependent on temperature change of the LDO, -20°C to +100°C in my case)
  2. The datasheet does not give any information regarding aging (20 years in my case)

Those two factors might be included in the "Output voltage tolerance" of +/- 2%. But I'm not sure about that.
I've used Datasheet SNVSAA8C

Does anyone maybe have additional information on how to calculate the absolute min/max output voltage over the lifetime?

Best Regards!
Marius

  • Hi Marius,

    Thank you for your question.

We currently do not have any information about the aging of this device as we do not have the equipment to characterize this data.

A device we recommend using rather than the LP5912-Q1 would be the TPS7A21-Q1. We will be using our future equipment on the TPS7A20/21 series to determine aging later this year.

I am assuming we do not have temperature data for this device since it is older. The TPS7A21-Q1 device will have temp data provided in the data, but if you still want to use the LP5912-Q1 device we can provide some temporary temperature data for the conditions you will be using, but this data we cannot provide over the lifetime of the device.

If you would like the temperature data for this device, please let us know your condition: VIN, VOUT, IOUT.

    Hope this helps!

    Best Regards,

    Hannah
