TPSM828302: vs TPSM82902SISR

Part Number: TPSM828302
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPSM82902

Tool/software:

Hi,

I have a requirement as below:

Ambient 45degC

Vin Vout Iload Usage Plan
IC1 12v 2.5V 1.2A other ICs TPSM82902SISR
IC2 5V 2.2V 1A Input for TPS7A8300ARGRR TPSM828302ARDSR
IC3 5V 1.5V 0.9A Input for TPS7A8300ARGRR TPSM828302ARDSR
IC4 5V 1.9V 0.5A VLVDS of TI ADCADC12DL2500 TPSM828302ARDSR

I am wondering if we can go with TPSM82902SISR for IC2,3,4 also.

1) What is the difference between TPSM828302ARDSR and TPSM82902SISR parts in terms of functionality?

2) Can you please share what I need to ensure before deciding on this part change?

Thanks

  • Hi Nandini,

    Here are my comments:

    1) TPSM828302 is more optimized for better performance (efficiency, load transients, low EMI) for 5V input. TPSM82902 has a SS/TR pin to adjust the startup time, while TPSM828302 has a fixed startup time of around 300us. TPSM828302 (1ku | $1.050) is lower price than TPSM82902 (1ku | $1.530).

    2) If you would like to go with TPSM82902, you can check if the efficiency, output tolerance, startup/sequencing, price, BOM meets your needs.

    Best regards,

    Varun
