BQ25731: System Architecture for two USB C DRP Ports

Part Number: BQ25731
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQ25730

Tool/software:

Hello,

We are currently using the BQ25731 in a single USB C port application but would like to add another port. The basic architecture we would like to implement is as shown below:

  1. Can we simply use another BQ25731 for the second buck boost DCDC converter?
  2. Would it make sense to move to the BQ25730 to provide some separation between Vsys and VBat? Connecting Vsys between the two chips?
  3. Is there a better architecture that TI would recommend?

It would be programmed such that only one buck-boost controller can charge the pack at once.
