Dear Team,

I want to calculate the junction temperature of the TPS62A06DRLR on the TPS62A06EVM.
Can you please test thermal performance of the TPS62A06EVM under the following conditions?
 - Vin=5.0V
 - Vout=1.2V
 - Iout=4.0A & 6.0A

I want the following test results.

    we don't have the thermal images available, but measurements of the temperature at several conditions.

    With T ambient of 25 degrees, Vout = 1.2V I can provide the following data:

    Vin / Iout 2A 6A
    2.5V 32.9°C 85.9°C
    3.3V 32.7°C 74.2°C
    5.5V 34.6°C 70.7°C

    Do you specifically need Vin = 5.0V and Iout = 4A or is this data sufficient?

    Can you provide a little insight into customer and end equipment?

    Thank you for the data.
    My customer is looking for a device that meets requirements of Vin=5.0V, Vout=1.2V, Iout=4A and Low price. And they are looking at the TPS62827DMQR first. 
    From low price point of view, I think the TPS62A06DRLR is better suited, if the thermal performamce of it is better. Then, I have requested the case top temperature under Vin=5.0V, Vout=1.2V and Iout=4.0A & 6.0A conditions in order to compare the thermal performance of the TPS62827.

    In fact, I have to respond to the customer as soon as possible, so it would be helpful if I could get test results of thermal images this week.

  • Hi Koshi-san,

    I measured the thermal images today for Vin=5V, Vout=1.2V Iout=4A and 6A. I let it settle for more than 30 minutes. The highest temperature at 4A is ~46.5 degree Celsius. At 6A it is ~ 68.2 degree Celsius. Ambient temperature was ~24 degrees.
