UCC28019A and UC2853A

The UCC8019A soft over current threshold is 0.7V and is not programmable.  Comparing the UCC28019A with the UC2853A, in a 100W application, 400V output, universal input application, allowing 20% inductor current ripple, the resultant current sense resistor for the UC2853A application, as shown in U-159 (TI literature number SLUA080) is 0.5 Ohms.  Using the Design Calculator for the UCC28019A with the same design requirements results in a current sense resistor of 0.25 Ohms.  I have enclosed the design calculator with the same requirements as given in U-159 for you to review.

I can not disclose the password to the spreadsheet itself.  But I do have a MathCAD file that I created thet the Excel tool is based on.  Do you have MathCAD and would it be helpful if I sent it to you?

The MathCAD file and the Excel spreadsheet both use the equations that are in the Design example section of the UCC28019 data sheet , starting on page 23 and continuing through page 42.  The files just do all of the iterations and calculations for you but the equations are the same.
