Hi

We looking for Cheap Coloumb Counter for Battery Sysytem.

And we found about BQ26200 Colonb Counter for Sinngle Cell .

This device for Single Cell only, but we thinking this dveice use for Multi  Battery  ( 3 or 5 Cell).

I think this we can do about use for Multi Cell system for this BQ26200.

Could tou tell us about Multicell Battery Coloumb counter by BQ26200 Application?

  • Jasper,

It is possible to use the bq26200 for your application, but I would recommend instead using either the bq27000 (HDQ) or the bq27200 (I2C). These parts are cheaper than the bq26200 by a large margin and are actually newer and better. You just won't be using the gauging features of the device, which is OK. The app note slua387 explains how to change the circuitry for multiple cells in series. The coulomb counting happens with a sense resistor on the low side, so the device doesn't care how many cells are in series. You just need to make sure the input voltages on the Vcc and Bat pins are within range.

    I hope this helps.
