TPS23861: Regarding compliance with the IEC62368-1 standard

Previously, I asked a question about compliance with IEC62368-1 in the thread below.
After June 20, 2019, IEC60950-1 will no longer be applicable to new products, and products will be required to comply with IEC62368-1.
This is the background to my question.
It has been a year since I asked the question before.
So, I would like to ask you the same question again.
Does TPS23861 apply to IEC62368-1?
Or will it remain the IEC60950-1 standard?

Hi Kaji,

Since IEC62368-1 is superceding IEC60950-1, I would assume that means all specifications that point to IEC60590-1 will now need to point to IEC62368-1. However, in some markets IEC60950 is still accepted.

Has the TPS23861 been certified for QVRQ2, IEC/UL62368-1?

Hi Kaji,

IEC certifications are system level certification used for end equipment safety certifications and are not done at the IC level. Our devices comply with the standard that governs that actual behavior (IEEE).

TPS23861 meets IEEE802.3at compliance and is Ethernet Alliance certified.
