TPS7H1101A-SP: Prebiased Output, & 2mA Current Source

Part Number: TPS7H1101A-SP

Tool/software:

Hello e2e,

These questions apply to a critical long duration space flight mission:

  1. Can the part be enabled with a voltage present on Vout, and if yes is there a limit to what that voltage can be, e.g. something other than making sure Vout does not exceed Vin? The specifics of our application are:
    • Vin=5V, Vout=3.3V.
    • There could be up to 0.7V on Vout at the time the part is enabled.
    • Vin=5V always present before prebias on Vout occurs.
  2. The functional block diagram shown in 7.2 shows a 2mA current source at the output (see below), what is the purpose of this current source, and when is it in effect, e.g. powered on & enabled, powered on not enabled, in regulation, always… ?

Thank you,

-John
