Hi TI Team,

I am looking for an ideal diode controller/ideal diode with the below specs.

- Input voltage support: 12V, 24V, and 48V

- RPP protection up to -65V

- Load: around 65W.

- RPP and OVP required

I don't require automotive battery protections/features like load dump etc. My application requires RPP and OVP only.

I am planning to go with LM747x/ LM748x family. Can you please suggest suitable part number from this family or from TI portfolio?

As well what is the major difference between "LM74722-Q1, LM74721-Q1, LM74720-Q1 & LM7481-Q1, LM7480-Q1 ?

Hi SJP,

Both, LM748X and LM7472X families can work for you.

LM7472X family uses boost circuit to drive the FETs whereas LM748X uses charge pump to drive the FETs.

Only major difference in the two is difference in Iq.

If you only require OVP and RPP, please consider using LM74502-Q1.

Note: LM74502-Q1 will not have reverse current blocking protection.

Thanks for information and suggestion of LM74502-Q1. I got updated spec from team and now we require over current protection also. Can you please suggest part number for the same ?

If you require over current protection as well, please consider using LM74900/LM74910-Q1
