UCC256403: Burst mode disable in UCC256403

Part Number: UCC256403

Tool/software:

Dear Experts

I have tried with the values in the range that disable the burst mode. But burst mode is not disable.

Another thing I observed that after removing upper resistor of BW. I observed that burst mode is disable but the output voltage is not set to reference value.

  • Hello,

You inquiry is under review and I will get back to shortly.

    Regards,

  • Hello,

The BW pin also detects over voltage protection.  This could being triggered in your design and not burst mode.

If your output capacitance is too small under no load conditions it could trigger OVP.

Any or all of the following could cause OVP to trigger.

    1. If your output capacitance is too small it could trigger OVP.

    2. Your transformer turns ratio is incorrect.

    3. Your resistor divider to the BW pin is not setup correctly to detect OVP

    4. Because the design does not go into burst mode the output runs away and trips OVP under no load conditions.  This can be corrected by pre-loading the output on your design to prevent this from occurring from your design.
