The current flowing across the SRP/SRN pins should be reflected by the 0x0A Current() register in bqStudio.

I believe Section 5.1 of the bq40z80 TRM would be a good resource here. This section will describe which parameters need to be changed and how the Advanced Charge Algorithm of the gauge works.

I believe the Overcurrent in Charge protection would be best here. To test this, please apply a current greater than the threshold while the gauge is in CHG mode and ensure that the actions in the Trip section below take place.

I have changed the values in the bqstudio and applied a current of 5.8 A, which is greater than the threshold but I could not see any actions which was happening, where can that be seen can I get the information in detail?

Is the 5.8A being applied for enough time to meet the OCC Delay? If you send the .gg file in use we can confirm the settings.

Hello,

Since the OCC enables the [XCHG] bit, this will disable the CHG FET until the protection has been cleared, so this should stop the cell from being charged any further.
