USB-TO-GPIO2: USB-TO-GPIO EEPROM Fix

Part Number: USB-TO-GPIO2

Tool/software:

I have a USB-TO-GPIO device from 2006 that was previously working.  Today, when I opened the fusion software, I got a prompt to update the firmware.  I accepted the update, but received a notification that the update failed.  After this, I can no longer see the device through fusion design software and it now shows as an unknown device in my computer's device manager.

From research, it appears that the EEPROM may have been corrupted.  Is there a way to recover from this state or is the device bricked?
