What is the difference between Load Select mode 1 and Load Select mode 3 settings as they relate to the returned parameter Average TimeTo Empty?

If discharge is interrupted for a couple of minutes, does this constitute a new discharge cycle?

What is the time period used in the calculation for "Average Time to Empty"?

  • Rick,

Load select 1 uses the average current for the present discharge cycle, which means from whenever you begin discharging to whatever point you're at in the discharge. If you pause the discharge and then resume it, it is still the same discharge cycle. If you were to charge, then discharge again, that would start a new discharge cycle. Load select 3 uses a rolling average current with a 1 minute window.

Average Time To Empty just takes the Remaining Capacity and divides it by the current (either discharge cycle average or 1 minute average) to get the time in minutes that the gauge thinks it will take to get to empty based on what type of current it has seen so far. Average Time To Empty would be more susceptible to change based on fluctuating current when using Load select 3.

    Hope this helps.
