UCC12040: TI recommendation

Part Number: UCC12040
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: UCC12050, UCC33020, UCC33420, UCC15240-Q1, UCC14140-Q1, UCC14131-Q1, UCC3808-2

Tool/software:

Please recommend isolated DC/DC converters that is not a module power supply and has a withstand voltage of over 2000V. As it is powered by batteries, it can input 3-7V and output 3-7V, with a maximum actual output current of 3A. It is best to have a chip with 5A, and it is best not to use large volume chips due to limited space. It is best to find SMD small-sized chips

  • Jimmy,

Here all the possible option for an Isolated DC/DC converters:

    UCC12040 or UCC12050 (5V/5V) Pout=0.5W, UCC33420 (5V/5V) or UCC33020 (3.3-5V/5V). Pout=1.5W

    UCC15240-Q1 (21V-27V/24V). Pout=2.5W

    UCC14140-Q1 (9-18V/24V) Pout=1.5W, UCC14131-Q1 (9-18V/24V) Pout=1.5W

You can check similar part in the product webpage. For your low voltage specs, the devices on the first line are the most appropriate, but you can get up to 1.5W (UCC33420).

    Thank you

  • Guys,

Lets be realistic in what's being proposed. There is no isolated integrated bias module capable of 15W-25W output power! Next consideration for small size would be a transformer driver but for such low input voltage, high output power, TI transformer drivers are a stretch. Without relaxing the specs or changing the power distribution, the closest solution might be a push-pull (UCC3808-2) but even this solution needs a 4.5V UVLO start voltage.
