TPS2HB35-Q1: Short condition detection/overtemperature when using PWM

Part Number: TPS2HB35-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

A general question about the TPS2HB35-Q1 family HSS. We are using this HSS to drive the lighting, so a 100Hz PWM is applied. With PWM applied, we would like to learn about how to deal with the fault detection. If my understanding is correct, with PWM, the device will shunt down with overtemperature to protect the device itself. While for our HSS, can it thermal shunt down then recover again and again? Will this impact the lifetime of the device?

The reason for this question is due to we found we can only apply overtemperature protection during the ON state with PWM, we would like to learn about is it workable or will it bring any risk?

Thanks

Best,

Frank
