If the BQ40z50 R2 in my battery pack is connected to my host processor . How my processor will know how much current it need to send from the charger to the battery pack?

Is there any register or register bit Host processor has to read to know the desired current from the BQ40z50 R2 IC?

Hello Sadatan,

The gauge has charging current and charging voltage registers that can be read from the gauge and sent to the charger IC. This can all be configured in the Advanced Charge Algorithm section in data memory.

Thanks for your reply.

So, what is the address of these charging current and voltage registers? Does Charging current register shows the current which is desired as per the voltage and SOC state or is it what is programmed in the gauge or is it something battery is taking at that time depending upon its internal impedance and the CC current of power source?
