LP87702-Q1: OTP question

Part Number: LP87702-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

My customer reach out to 3rd party which can help them burn the OTP. And below excel is our OTP setting.

LP87702Q-Q1_B0_OTP configuration OTP29_3.xlsx

But we found there are some suspected LP87702-Q1 can't output the correct voltage. We dumped the register as below attachment.

LP8770.csv

1. May you help check the reason why suspected chip can't have normal output? If you need any other register to find the root cause, please help let me know.

2. If we want to overwrite the new OTP with using our MCU in the system. May you help let me know the setup? We tried to overwrite the I2C reg, but useless.

Regards,

Roy

  • Hi Roy,

LP87702-Q1 device is OTP (one time programmable) based device and it cannot be re-programmed after leaving TI factory. Also programming OTP would need TI factory setup to access.

    1. Based on *.csv file i can say values readback from device are reset values. So this means device is either not programmed or it is in reset state all the time.
    2. I think if device is in continuous reset state it registers cannot be overwritten.

What is concerning me here as well is that who 3rd party has provided this kind of service since I'm not aware of allowing this to LP87702-Q1 device. We are publishing 3rd party programming for EEPROM devices but not for OTP based. And there is also devices which cannot be ever programmed by 3rd party.
