BQ34Z100: Fuel Gauge inconsistency

Hey TI team,

I've got what I believe to be a fully calibrated BQ34Z100 on my current pack design but I'm seeing significant jumps in the SoC during charge / discharge (as shown in 0902-GAUGE-0049.csv). I want to be able to use the fuel gauge as the source of truth for the status of my pack, but with the level of error that I'm seeing I'm finding I need to reset and recalibrate. Is there's something wrong with my settings or is this expected? I've attached the GG file for this gauge as well. Thanks!

How was the golden image created for this gauge?

Please list all steps taken to create your golden image.

Hi Diego - I had to check with the factory, but was delayed due to the golden week holiday. The factory is following the below application guide: https://www.ti.com.cn/cn/lit/pdf/zhcaaf7?keyMatch=%E7%94%B5%E9%87%8F%E8%AE%A1%E5%BA%94%E7%94%A8%E6%89%8B%E5%86%8C&tisearch=universal_search

If there's an equivalent document in English that you can point me to, that might help with my confirming the steps.

The factory pointed me to the below steps specifically as what they follow for training the gauge. First they prepared the pack for learning as described below:

And then they performed the charge / discharge cycles for training the gauge as described here:

They did three charge and discharge cycles to try and make sure it was accurate as possible. I've also attached these for your reference

Please let me know if this is consistent with your understanding of how to correctly calibrate the gauge.

Hi Jasen,

Sorry for the confusion let me clarify my question.

Did you get a chemID match? What was the DOD% error?

Did you complete a learning cycle? (sounds like yes?)

Did you calibrate the gauge?

Sorry the .zip you shared is showing up as an empty folder on my end, can you link the individual text files?

One last learning file attached. The #2 charge cycle was lost so that is not included. If you think it's critical, let me know and I'll ask the factory to re-run it.
