Yes, 2.4A advertisement is supported as divider 3 mode in the TPS2549 and TPS2549 datasheets.

Arabella,

Both DCP control decodes will automatically turn on divider 3.

setting CTL1 and 2 to logic high will turn on DCP mode. CTL3 allows the customer to switch between 2 different current limits to support cases where 900mA needs to be supported when DCP does not detect a higher current state.
