TPS7H5001-SP: Half-bridge

Hi,

According to the homepage of the part TPS7H5001-SP, the part can ve used in Half-Bridge topology. However, its not mentioned in the datasheet if it can be used in a Half-bridge topology. Please clarify if its possible to be used in Half-bridge and if possible some examples or issues with the use of TPS7H5001-SP in Half-bridge.

    Hey Jan Magne,

    We are confident that the part has what it needs in order to be used in a half-bridge topology.
    I do not have examples to share that show it in a half-bridge topology.

    To talk about some potential pit-falls you could run into, half-bridge topologies will often run in voltage mode.
    The TPS7H5001-SP can do voltage mode with some modifications.
    In order to do this you would have to forgo the CS_ILIM threshold cycle-by-cycle current limiting.
    You would then use the RSC pin to generate an internal ramp that would be used for voltage mode.
    Any current limits required in the design could be implemented through the FAULT pin.
