Please tell me the background to the addition of the following statement in the datasheet update. Also, what kind of malfunctions may occur if pin 2 is connected to REF or cathode?

    Hi Conor,

    Connecting pin 2 to any other voltage besides what is highlighted in the datasheet could affect the cathode voltage in some configurations. Please leave it floating or connected to the anode as you have pointed out and is specified in the datasheet.
