Hi,

I have a pretty basic doubt. Suppose the input to the bq25798 charger ic is absent(Battery only mode). Assuming the battery is charged, does the battery output its voltage to the Sys pin or the Pmid pin to the desired output system/load?Also, what is the difference between battery only mode and backup supply mode?

    Hi Aditya,

    In battery only mode, the battery supplies power to the SYS pin through the BATFET. 

    Backup supply mode is when the VBUS voltage falls (typically due to adapter unplug) and the charger then forces EN_OTG=1 and starts discharging the battery to regulate VBUS at the VOTG register setting.
