UCC28911: Can i use UCC28911 for 14v~150v input, 12V 0.1A output application?

Hi team,

Recently my customer is trying to design a buck converter, so I want to know that is that okay to use UCC28911 for 14V~150V DC input, 12V 0.1A output application?

Could you please help review this schematic?

Hi,

It looks ok, but it looks you need to add Z1 (< 48V) and D1. When Vin > 48V, Ivs > 48V/40k = 1.2mA (abs max) then violating the abs max spec. After adding Z1 and D1, when Vin > 48V, additional current more than 1.2mA will bypass through D1 and Z1, Ivs will not be more than 1.2mA.

Usually Z2 (above 12V) should be added to limit the possible over voltage.
