Hello TI Engineer,

Input is 26V and output is between 10V to 24V,2.5A. I have exported TINA simulation file from WEBENCH tool.

Q1 - When I tried to simulate transient simulation, It would be taking around 20minutes to simulate. Is there any other way to reduce the simulation time.

Q2 - When I tried to do DC analysis then it would give wrong results of output voltage, but in transient simulation it is right results. Is it limitation of exported webench file or am I doing wrong thing?

Q1) I am sorry that you are struggling with long simulation times.
Unfortunately, this is a know problem and hard to overcome. It is possible to tweak some simulation parameters to reduce simulation time, but this comes at the cost of lower accuracy in the simulation results, so it is not recommended.
It is possible to achieve higher simulation speeds with other simulation software based on experience from other customers. However, for this it would be necessary to transfer the netlist library file of LM34936 to the other simulator.

Q2) The transient model does not work for AC or DC analysis simulations. It only works (and is meant for) transient simulations.
This comes from the fact that simulators like TINA or PSpice cannot find a steady state due to the switching behavior of the power converter, which therefore requires a transient simulation.

Could you please advise me that how may I transfer the netlist library file of LM34936 to the other simulator.?

Hi Neel,

The first step would be to get the unencrypted library netlist file.
I just checked on the product page ( https://www.ti.com/product/LM34936#design-tools-simulation ) and the LM34936 simulation model is only release in encrypted state to the public. The unencrypted file is only handed out under NDA.
Do you know if your company has an active NDA with Texas Instruments?

After receiving the unencrypted version under NDA, this library file can now be transferred to another simulator of choice. As syntax may vary between simulators, the file cannot be used without adjustments.
