BQ27Z746: Confusion about GPO being configurable as open drain

Hello, block diagrams for the BQ27Z746 datasheet indicate that GPO is a push-pull output. However, the technical reference manual says this is configurable as an open drain output. Can somebody please clarify if this signal can be open drain or not?

This doesn't fully answer my question. I understand it CAN be push-pull, which would explain why the datasheet specifies operaiton in the push-pull configuration. The TRM states it can also be configured as open drain though. Is the TRM incorrect?

Hello John,

The TRM is correct here, you can configure this for push pull or open drain depending on what you have the PUSHPULL_EN bit set to.
