BQ27Z746: Doubt regarding the procedure for Chemical id identification in LiPo Battery

Part Number: BQ27Z746
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: BQSTUDIO, , BQ25628E

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

In our project, we are using a LiPo battery, and we need to identify its chemical ID. We are using the BQ27Z746 fuel gauge for monitoring the battery parameters through BQStudio and the BQ25628E as the battery charger. To identify the chemical ID, we referred to the TI document 'Simple Guide to Chemical ID Selection Tool (GPC) (Rev. A)'. The figure below shows the steps for the full process, and in the third step, it discusses relaxing the battery. We have a question regarding this: How exactly should the battery be relaxed? Should we simply turn off the power on the battery charger IC after a full charge, or should we completely isolate all connections from the battery and leave it in a resting place for 2 hours to relax? Which method is best for relaxing the battery? Please assist us.

Regards,

Nithya
