UCC28950: About integrated circuit proposal for UPS design

Part Number: UCC28950

Tool/software:

Hello,

I need to design a DC/DC converter with an input voltage of 24 Volt DC (lead-acid battery), an output voltage of 400 Volt DC and an output current of 12 A. Do you recommend using the UCC28950 PSFB integrated circuit for this design, which is approximately 5 kW, or if not, is there another integrated circuit you can recommend? Do you think it is possible to realize such a design?

I want to obtain 220 V AC and 20 A output with Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation for this output voltage (400 V DC) and output current (12 A).

Sincerely

Nafi Can

  • Hello,

Your inquiry is under review and I will get back to you shortly.

  • Hello,

The UCC28950 design will work for your DC to DC application.  However, it was not designed to work as inverter.

The following will bring you to an application note that shows how to design with a UCC28950 in phase shifted full bridge.  It goes through the step by step design process and there is a link to excel design tool in the application note that will help with the design process as well.

The following link will bring you to an inverter design using C2000 digital controller.  For the DC to AC converter this may be a good choice for your application.
