BQ27426: The problem of battery jump

Part Number: BQ27426

Tool/software:

Hi Team,

Currently, we have a product that uses BQ27426 with chem ID 3142 and a terminate of 3.5V. During the discharge process, the reading of the electricity meter may suddenly jump, for example, from 60% to 0 or from 99%. Then, by checking the parameters through the tool, it is found that the parameters have returned to their default state and entered ITPOR. Under what conditions can this situation occur.

Thank you

Best Rgards

  • Hello Ziwei,

Every time the gauge is reset, or an ITPOR event occurs, the gauge reverts back to it's default settings and you lose the learned parameters. For this reason, it is recommended to have your host MCU regularly save the state parameters, and for the MCU to regularly poll the ITPOR bit on the gauge. Then when the ITPOR bit is set, you know a POR event has occurred, then you can reload the learned state parameters and reload your specific configuration.

    Regards,

    Robert.
