Part Number: TPS25858-Q1

Tool/software:

Hi TI team,

Please review the customer's schematic.

TYPE-C USB charger with a 15W+15W 2 port specification.

Schematic delete.

  • Hi Cho,

I will review the schematic and provide feedback within 3 business days.

  • Hello Cho,

I've reviewed the schematic. Please see feedback below:

    1. Ensure that AGND and PGND are not directly connected together on the top layer. TI recommends to use one of the middle layers as a solid ground plane. Ground plane provides shielding for sensitive circuits and traces. It also provides a quiet reference potential for the control circuitry. The AGND and PGND pins must be connected to the ground plane using vias right next to the bypass capacitors.
    2. Ensure that the R_freq and R_ilim resistors are connected to AGND and the traces are far away from noisy nets like SW and BOOT.
    3. Ensure VSET is connected to AGND.
    4. Ensure R5 of the temp sense circuit is connected to AGND.
    5. All other components should be connected to PGND.
    6. It is advised to add a 0ohm resistor in series with the BOOT capacitor in case a BOOT resistor is needed to reduce potential SW ringing.
    7. The internal buck regulator's peak current can be as high as 12.6A (see snip from datasheet below). Ensure that the L2 inductor's saturation current is higher than this value.

    BR,

    Seong
