Hello. Which is produced by TI LED drivers can be produced to replace Mocroblok MBI5028 LED driver? Thank you.

    Egidijus,

    There are several TI alternatives to the MBI5028.  The electrical specifications for the TI parts are slightly different from Macroblock, but the pinouts are compatible.

    TI Alternatives:

    TLC5926 or TLC5927 - closest match.  High current per LED channel, similar 'special modes', similar channel to channel and IC to IC current matching.

    TLC5928, TLC59281, or TLC59282 - same pinout, but lower output current levels, faster switching speeds, no special modes.

    Hello .

    Do you  know if  TLC59281 TLC59282 have temperature shutdown. I was not able to find this information in the datasheet?

    For TLC59025/TLC5926 / TLC5927 there is overtemperature shutdown at 175C


    Does it mean that for TLC59281/ TLC59282 there is no any temperature protection?

    Oleksiy,

    You are correct.  The TLC59281 and TLC59282 do not have thermal protection.  TLC5928 is pin to pin compatible and includes a thermal warning flag, but not shutdown.  The TLC5929, also pin compatible, includes thermal warning, thermal shutdown and many other protection features.
