Are you already in a DP mode?

Are you just trying to switch from 4-lane DP mode to 2-lane DP mode?

Hi Chris,

No, Though Win10 OS doesn't have the inbox TBT driver(SW CM), so there is no TBT5 support, its may cause several limitations, we need to know the command for BR link downgraded to USB3/DP/MFDP, thanks.

Michael,

Our knowledge is lower-level. We can advise on the TPS65994BH and the I2C interfaces it communicates to. We are unfamiliar with any OS-level commands/communications.

It is possible to configure the TPS65994BH for no other Alternate Modes EXCEPT MFDP. Is that something that will help resolve this issue?

Michael,

Not a command. But there are configuration settings that can be modified. Also if there is an EC on I2C1, you can simply have EC disable these before a connection is made.

You can disable TBT mode by setting Thunderbolt Configuration (0x52) -> Thunderbolt VID Enabled = 0 (bit 0)

You can disable USB4 by setting TX Identity (0x47) -> DFP VDO -> Host Capability -> USB4 = 0

If you have Num Valid VDOs = 6 and Product Type DFP is a USBPD Host/Dock then yes!
