TPS43060: Low value resistors around bootstrap diode

Part Number: TPS43060

Tool/software:

Hi

Im currently making a booster, using TPS43060.

Some small values resistors are used in the bootstrap circuit to limit currents (and improve EMI), the resistor in series with the bootstrap diode, makes sense, but another resistor in series with VCC and its decoupling does not make sense to me. What is the purpose of this resistor?

Perhaps this is a mistake? My guess is that only the resistor in series with the diode shall be used.

Maybe no-one had the courage to remove it once it was placed on the schematic?

BR Thomas

  • Hello Thomas,

This resistor limits the current available for the gate drivers and bootstrap cap, but it depends on which transistors are used. I recommend leaving it there, but if you want you could try out with 0 Ohm.

    Best regards,
    Brigitte
