UCC256404: Using the Simplis model

Part Number: UCC256404

Tool/software:

For my first ever LLC resonant Converter Design...

I have downloaded and experiemented with the Excel Design-tool, which looks promising.

Now I would like to play with the design using your Simplis Model which seems to be the only model you are providing.

As a start, I have downloaded the "SIMetrix/SIMPLIS Elements" from the download-page at www.simetrix.co.uk.

This enables med to look at the El.Schematic of your sample-design, but when trying to run the simulation is complains about inability to do a decryption.

Is this problem just a result of missing some configuration settings; placing the files the wrong place on my computer; or will I need a full blown Simplis licence? Other options?

I could not find any Simplis-prerequisite-step-by-step-instructions-for-dummies on the TI website.

Any hint on how to get started with Simplis for your UCC25640x Simplis Model will be highly appreciated :-)

Best regards,

  • Hello,

    Your inquiry is under review.

  • Hello,

I down loaded the model and ran it as is without decryption issues.  TI does have a floating license to I do not now if this is what your issue is.

Simplis has 2 modes of simulation.  One is Simplis and One is Simetrix.  Make sure it is set in Simplis mode.  If it is not reset it and run the simulation.

If that does not work, contact Simplis to see if the partial package you have is limited.

Thank you for interest in Texas Instruments (TI) products.  If you have a related question, please click the "Ask a related question" button in the top right corner. The newly created question will be automatically linked to this question.
