TPS546D24S: DRTN Data Sheet connection clarification

Part Number: TPS546D24S

Tool/software:

In table 5-1 Pin Functions it says that for PIN 5 DRTN, "Do not connect to PGND or AGND".

In Figure 8-18 PCB Layout Recommendation it says on the thermal pad "Connect DRTN to Thermal Pad".  It also says to "Connect AGND to Thermal Pad".

Therefore DRTN would be connect to AGND.

Which is correct?  The Pin Function table or the Layout Recommendations.

My apologies for the confusion, the comment in Figure 8-18 was suppose to be removed.  Note:  There is no connection from DRTN to EP (which is PGND) in the graphic.

The Bulleted List of the Layout Guidelines and the Pin Functional table are correct.  The graphic note is an error.

Pin 5 - DRTN is the digital bypass return.  It should not be connected to any net except the negative terminal of the BP1V5 bypass capacitor.

Do not connect it to AGND

Do not connect it to PGND

Do not connect it to GND

DRTN is internally connected to AGND, but must not be externally connected to another ground.
