TPS7A3001-EP: Vref versus Vfb tolerances

Part Number: TPS7A3001-EP

Tool/software:

The TPS7A3001-EP data sheet indicates the reference voltage is Minimum -1.22V, Nominal -1.184V and maximum -1.142V.  The graph in figure 2. shows VFB being near -1.175V at 25C.  There appears to be an offset between the Vref and VFB.  Can you clarify?

Does overall accuracy include the variation in Vref?  The reference appears to have a variation of 3%, but overall accuracy, with load regulation effects is +/- 2.85%

Thanks

  • Hi Michael,

I will refer to our test data and get back to you soon.

  • Hi Michael,

When the EP (Extended Performance) part was characterized, it's lower temperature bound was tested at -55 deg C compared to the -40 deg C for TPS7A3001. The nominal value for Vref is the average of the values at either end of the temperature range. Moreover, these values are 'guardbanded' so there will be some outliers.

Yes, the overall accuracy includes the variation in Vref. As i mentioned, these min and max values are guardbanded from a Gaussian distribution so there will be outliers.
