LM51231-Q1: LM51231 SW negative pressure confirmation

Hi team，

The LM51231 datasheet defines the minimum SW-AGND voltage as -1v (50ns). Harman measured the negative voltage of SW to GND as -3.9v. Is there a risk? Please help confirm.

    Hello Alan,

    Thanks for reaching out to us via e2e.

    For the LM5123 and 51231, the Abs Max rating for the switch node is -1V, as specified in the datasheet.

    If the device is used outside of the Abs Max voltages, the device may get damaged or derated over time.

    Please ask the customer to reduce the ringing on the switch node by using a snubber, gate resistors of maximum 5 Ohms or different FETs which are switching slower.
    Also, a very good layout which minimizes the area of the gate loops and all parasitic elements is mandatory.
