TPS25751: When act as UFP, How to only sink 20V without 5V?

Part Number: TPS25751

Tool/software:

Hi, Team

When the TPS25751 act as UFP(sink), Customer prefer to only provide the 20V power at PPHV pin , that means they didn’t willing to output 5V first and then go up to 20V.

Base on our understanding, our register 0x37 can setting such use case.

But we had try many configuration for 0x37, but fail(HHPV will output 5V first and the go up to 20V, but customer prefer PPHV will go up to 20V without the 5V)

The attachment is the json file, could u help to check how to configure it? Pls help to modify the json file base on customer’s requirement.

Thanks your help.

  • Hi,

    Thank you for reaching out!

This behavior is expected. The PD controller will sink 5V first (implicit contract) and then negotiate PD contracts (explicit) according to the USB PD Specification.
