UCC28C54-Q1: Choice of flyback controller

Hi.

I'm currently working on an isolated power supply. Based on what I looked up flyback topology seems to fit my specs (Vin ~ 24VDC, Vout = 24VDC, Iout = 5A).

I came across a few controllers - UCC28C4x and UCC28C5x. But the footprint of the design is larger than what I can fit. [https://webench.ti.com/appinfo/webench/scripts/SDP.cgi?ID=B28BF41638BEF513]

Are there any tricks to shrink it down? Are there any alternate IC recommendations?

Hi,

The devices have DGK package - which footprint is very small. You can use DGK package from these devices to have small footprint.

Hi,

I understand that choosing a smaller package reduces the footprint. But, I want to know if there is a way to reduce the number of components. Maybe, a change the architecture to sacrifice some regulation for smaller footprint.
