Hi,

I am looking for a TI controller which can meet below Buck converter specifications.

Input voltage 12V to 15V, Output 3.3V/6V, Load current 120A.

Application: Automotive.

I feel we should have multi-Phase Buck Design to meet this requirement, can you suggest some details of the TI controller which can be used for 2 phase and 4 phase buck converter.

Hi Rayees,

It would likely be 4 phases for 120A (30A/phase) using 40V Q-grade FETs suitable for an automotive 12V battery input.

Is it 120A on each output, both 3.3V and 6V?

Hi Tim,

Thank you for your suggestion, there is one change in the output voltage spec. The output voltage will be 12V or maximum output by utilising the maximum Duty. Whether LM5171-Q1 or LM25143-Q1 which is better for 4 phase.

Hi Tim,

Its only single output and over all current is 120A. For meeting the current rating multi-phase was selected.

So it 12-15Vin, 12Vout, 120A.

2 x LM25143-Q1 should be fine - this will be a 4-phase solution. Another option is the LM5137F-Q1.
