Hi, TI expert.

A customer has requested a Watch Dog IC recommendation.

1. Input voltage 5V
2. After booting, if there is no signal (GPIO HIGH or LOW) from the MCU for a certain period of time (approximately 0.1s to 10s), change DC-DC Enable to LOW and then change it back to HIGH (Power Reset)
3. Timer Variable Type

After checking the above, please recommend a suitable Watch Dog IC (Reset IC).

Hello Grady,

TPS3435AFACADDFRQ1 should meet your requirement.

If the MCU does not provide a valid falling edge on the WDI pin in 10 sec, the WDO will be pulled low and high.

The value for the watchdog timer and watchdog error assert time can be programmed with capacitor.

May I know how the watchdog device will be powered?

It is supplied using a separate DC-DC (Input: 24Vdc, Output: 5Vdc).
