LM51571-Q1: Webench, Quickstart calculator, and Datasheet giving conflicting information

Part Number: LM51571-Q1

Tool/software:

I'm trying to design a boost converter to take 12V nominal to 24V at 500mA. The LM51571-Q1 seems like it would do the job but I'm having difficulties trying to figure out which guide I should follow for the design.

1. Neither Webench nor the Quickstart guide mention the bulk capacitors and they seem to only be mentioned on page 29 of the datasheet so I don't really know how to size them correctly. They don't seem to get mentioned in "How to Design a Boost Converter Using LM5157x, 5158x" application guide either.

2. The suggested Rcomp, Ccomp, and CHF vary wildly from Webench to the quick start calculator. With Webench recommending a Ccomp of 15nF, Rcomp of 732Ω and CHF of 300pf, while the quick start calculator is suggesting a Ccomp of 3.95nF, Rcomp of 4.489kΩ and CHF of 91pf.
